If you really want to enjoy and take the trip with us some basic knowledge of how google maps work is necessary . If you got that good! Otherwise follow the tips given here.
Open larger map in a separate tab by right clicking the blue  link "View Larger Map"given below the map.on the map  the left side contains Title and brief description of the trip,the place marks and the route lines.right top corner of map has " map,sat, ter and earth"selections . a click will take you to that map mode . Best viewing is in map for route navigation and sat for places. 

Left click on the place mark , Gray squares in this case , this takes you to the location of that place on the map( I have placed location to within +/- 10 feet actual location:-) ) and opens a information window of that place.For better and detailed viewing zoom in to the maximum .Zoom in and zoom out as much as you want for better viewing. The window of  place marks for places of interest  on the map incorporate THREE links .
First link : Mostly takes one to wikipedia link giving full details about that place .You will know almost every thing about that lace , worth knowing. Found it very interesting , informative and educative . If I have not been able to find it in wikipedia some other link is given
Second link : As I do not have soft copies of the trip this link gives access to Panoramia photos of that place . Thing of interest is that to get full benefit of the link you must navigate in this photo link . As you already know how to navigate , zoom in and zoom out I will not tell you . This link is also very interesting .
Third link : Takes you to google images page   to view additional photos of that place . However for reasons I have not been able to find some photos of other and unrelated places are also included so to know that you are looking at photo of correct place read the name of the photo. 
When I have soft copies the map will have link to our own photos and panoramia and google images link will be removed..

Kashmir Trip :19 May 2010 To 27 May 2010.

I had been to Srinagar during Forward Area Tour - Northern Sector while doing Staff Collage . However Priti had never been to J & k area . We decided to rectify the situation so did the trip . View and review :-)

EUREKA ! EUREKA !! EUREKA !!!

During the years 1999 to 2007 we had traveled extensively by road to all corners of India . I had prepared a road map on which full details of every journey under taken by us were recorded . All those who had a look at that map were suitably impressed ! My son suggested that I put them on the google "My Map pages " . It was a grand idea and helped me in spending considerable amount of my time in a very pleasurable hobby :-)and so the maps were duly made and posted on google "My Map pages " site after completion of the journey .

We are now in Gurgaon and have been for the last month plus to help out our DL (daughter -in -law)by doing some baby sitting and generally trying to be helpful . I have doubts about my contributions to both these tasks but I am sure and have no doubt that the DL will also agree that Priti has been doing both the tasks wonderfully well . In the mean time Google , Googgle maps , the Blog , the Gnat 50 years site and generally speaking the internet has been great help in getting me through the days and nights :-)

With time on my hand I thought of putting those maps on google earth . When trying to do that ( put my google maps on the Google Earth ) , I accidently discovered ( now you know the reason for the title of this blog:-)that google "My Maps "can be imbeded in the blog . After lot of trial & mostly errors I finally got the hang of how to do that .

It is a fair warning to all those very few followers of my blog { are there any ? :-( } that the next few days they are going to be over loaded by google maps and descriptions of our road journeys under taken through the years by car .

To navigate through this map use the left vertical panel on the map :

1. The panel gives contents of the map which are self explanatory.Placing the cursor  on any item in the panel will highlight that item in the map .
2. Click on the item in panel will open an information window in the map giving information about that item. If photos about that item have been uploaded they will also show in the information window.
3. For example placing the cursor on first entry Home , Nahgpu  will highlight Our home location in Nagpur, with a circle. Clicking on the same , will open a information window in the map  giving information at home.
The writing in these panels is slightly faint. Unfortunately I have not been able/ do not any thing about how to make it dark and better to read . Any help on that will be most welcome . To navigate through the info panel,use the Up/Down arrows given at top & bottom in the right margin.

2. There are various layers .Sequance of the layers is from top to Bottem.So,First layer is the start of the trip.Entries in layers show what it deals with.  
I have explained about first entry . Second entre shows train route from Nagpur to New Delhi. So on and so forth. This way Navigate through the map.  

3. Each successive layer shows the progress of the trip.

4. Last layer shows final leg of air travel travel on the return trip.

Going through the map will give you more than fair idea about the whole trip.

How to navigate through the interactive map:

When the interactive map opens, it may not look like the map above, it may not even be "centred". 

 To 'centre' the map, place the cursor anywhere on the map and an icon of palm-fist will appear. Press the left click and drag the map to anywhere or to any desired area you are interested in.

To see the location you are interested in, click the name of that location in the left panel, which will become highlighted, at the same time, a panel will also appear on the map at the location of that place, giving its name and write-up/description/details about that place. You will / may have to centre the location on the map for better viewing. Zoom in to the max and centre it for better viewing of the place/attraction. 

If photos have been taken at that place, they will also appear in the same panel. These photos do not give captions nor can they be viewed in zoom mode. To see the captions and view the photos you have to open the "trip-album".

A link to the "trip album" of the complete trip is given at the end.

In this album, you can zoom in to see photo details and also read the captions. 

After you have gone through the place and seen the photos zoom out again before going to the next place.

Padmna Nabh was getting married. Nana Saheb & Mangal had requested us to attend. After few discussions it was decided that as It was not possible to accommodate all by Mangal , I would stay under my own arrangements. I found out about Sainik Vishram Grah(SVG) at Bhopal and fixed up my accommodation. Reached there couple of days early . Mangal asked if I could manage some more rooms. Spoke to the people at that place . They were quite nice and agreed . Dada , Shreekant , Asha etc also stayed there.
Next five days passed quickly keeping us busy in going from SVG to Mangal house,marriage venue and SVG .
Every thing went off nicely. Had nice family get togather. 

10 July Left for Indore.

INDORE  

10 and 11 July Indore stay. Anil and Aai were happy. On 12 Left for Mahow. 

MHOW.

From 12 July to 15 July stayed with Ravi Rachana. One day went on picnic and boating to Bercha lake.

On 16 Started journey back to Nagpur.

MHOW - INDORE - BHOPAL - NAGPUR.

Started from Mhow on 16Jul. 

Stayed for a day in Indore. Left for Bhopal 18 Jul.

Stayed over night at Bhopal. Left for Nagpur on 19 Jul.  

End of Trip .
