2001 - TOTAL EIGHT TRIPS.

This is a screen shot of Total of EIGHT Trips we did in year 2001.

This Screen shot is just to give you over all picture of routes followed, hotels where we stayed, restaurants where we had food and the tourists attractions we visited. But these details can not be accessed here.

How to navigate through interactive map:

When you will open the interactive map you will see same map as is given in screen shot above.

On the left you will see a vertical panel.

Top heading reads "2001 - TOTAL EIGHT TRIPS". Clicking on it the same panel will open on main screen. It gives details of all the trips done in 2001. Once you have read it click "save" at the bottom left of the panel to save and close it.

Below the heading, you will see 

Trip 1.  Behere Farm...........,etc. 

Trip 2.  Koradi..........,etc as you scroll down you can see all the eight trip.

A tick in the square on left of the trip indicates that the trip is selected. Tick mark on all the 8 trips indicates that all the trips are selected and details of the trips ate displayed on the map.

To reduce confusion it is recommended that till such time you gain experience, except for the firs trip, you click on 2nd trip. This will, for the time being remove trip 2 being displayed in the map. Similarly except for trip 1,  remove all the other trips from map. This will leave details of ONLY Trip 1 on the map.

 Clock "Home" below the trip title. Location oh Home and information relevant to the trip will be displayed. Keep clicking locations one after the other and read detailed and complete informa information about " Trip 1. Behere Farm. 01 February 2001."

 Before opening next trip, it is advisable to close this trip from the map.

In this way you can see all the information of all the trips done in 2001.

GUJARAT - PATHANKOT OCT TO NOV 2001

Delhi - via  Gujrat - & Delhi - Pathankot Trip.

We had been to Delhi by direct route earlier , so when we had to go visiting Dadoo in October - November 2001 we decided to follow totally different routes .
Distance and time was not of the essence . What was of essence was to see as many world Heritage Sights and as much of our vast and diversely beautiful country as possible so we decided to go to Delhi via state of Gujarat . We did this trip from 22 October to 08 November 2001.

Stayed the nighr at Dhule. Govt Guest House. Due to experience atChikhaldara, told the care taker in no uncertain terms that we want a good room and freshely laundered linen. Got both. Reached Pradip place by afternoon . Stayed thre up to 26 Oct 01. 

Started for Delhi via Gujrat on morning of 27 Oct 01, Reached Ajeet Place 0n 08 Nov 01.Ravi at time time was posted at Mamun Cantt, Pathankot.Decided to go there. Started on 15th and came back to Delhi on 18Nov 01, Route on the way out and in was same.

At that time itself we also decided that the return trip to Nagpur would be via the state of Rajasthan :-)

PATHANKOT - DELHI.15 NOV - 18 NOV 01.

Chikhaldara Trips Jul Ocy 2001.

JULY 2001.

Ajeet and Jayati had come down for a short holiday. Nagpur Summer was in full force. We had heard that Chikhaldara was a hill station about 4 hours plus from Nagpur. Decided to go There for an overnight trip.
Planned a trip via Amaravati. 
We had brunch. Proceeded at a leisurely pace with photo halts at liked places . Also on the way what was worth seeing was seen.
Had planned a stay in Government PWD Circuit House at Chiknaldara. Stayed there night of 3rd Jul 01.
On 3 and 4th roamed around and saw as many places as possible.
4th July started back and returned to Nagpur.
Overall good trip. Except that accomodation in Guesr House was bad .Linen dirty . Learnt a lesson.
Unfortinately car diary does not have timings. 
Total odometer distance travelled in the whole trip 434 KMs.

OCTOBER 2001

In October Anuj and Prabal had come down.
Told them about Ajeet,Jayati trip to Chikhaldara. Even though it was winter, it was not too severe,so decided to go to Chiknakdara.
The route and all the sctivities were almost the same. 
Return on 17 Oct 01. The Route was the same except minor Changes, At a place called Kathiawad, about 55 odd KMs away on Amraveti road had lunch.and went to Chikhaldara.                                                        
Anuj put all of us in Satpuda Resort. Location of some of its rooms was most awesome . View from our room was also good.
Sight seeing was very very limitad.Can not remember why.
Slightly longer roue via Paratwada,Chandur bazar, Ridhapur, MH10 & Tivasa was followed.
Unfortunately there are no photos of this trip.
Also timings have not been noted in cardiary . Total odometer distance 264 

CHIKHALDARA TRIPS.

Koradi - Adasa - Dhapewada Trips.

On 26 feb Avinesh Patenkar dropped. He told us that Adasa Ganapati is a "jagrat "ganesh.. Surprising that evev after so may years in nagpur, Whad not seen it. 
Decided to visit it. Spoke to Pradip Behere. He said he will take us to Adasa.We also discussed. He furthersaid thet on the way to Adasa, Shri mahalakshmi Temple Koradi is almost on the way. He added that near Adasa in Dhaprwada there is Vithoba Rakhuma Bai Temple worth visiting. We decided to go to all the three places.

To take guests also it was goodtime pass  programme. That is how all these trips came about    

Being over a short diatance,unfortunately no timing or distances.. were recoeded for any of the trips 

Route followed on all the trips was same.

TRIP 1,

27 February 2001.

With Pradip & Mahgal Behere. First visit to Adasa and Dhapewadi.

TRIP 2. 

25 March 2001.

Mangal and Nana Saheb had come down from Bhopal for a few days.
To pass time and show then new palces decided to take them to ,Koredi -Adasa - Dhapewada Triangle .
Route followed was the same as we had done on 27 February 2001.  

TRIP 3.

15 APRIL 2001.
Surekha and kids had come down from Mumbai for a few days.
To pass time and show then new palces decided to take them to ,Koredi -Adasa - Dhapewada Triangle .

To navigate through this map use the left vertical panel on the map :

1. The panel gives contents of the map which are self explanatory.Placing the cursor  on any item in the panel will highlight that item in the map .
2. Click on the item in panel will open an information window in the map giving information about that item. If photos about that item have been uploaded they will also show in the information window.
3. For example placing the cursor on Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport will highlight Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport , Mumbai  with a circle. Clicking on the same , will open a information window in the map  giving information Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport .
The writing in these panels is faint. Unfortunately I have not been able/ do not any thing about how to make it dark and easy to read . Any help on that will be most welcome . To navigate through the info panel,use the Up/Down arrows given at top & bottom in the right margin.

2. There are various layers .Sequance of the layers is from top to Bottem.So,First layer is the start of the trip. Air routes from (1)Nagpur to Mumbai,(2)Mumbai to Doha and (3)Doha to Casablanca in Morroco. 

3. Each successive layer shows the progress of the trip.

4. Last layer shows final leg of air travel travel on the return trip.

Future blogs will cover the trip " day wise " giving details of activities for that day and description of what all we saw.

Going through the map will give you more than fair idea about the whole trip.
