When the map entry says '27 January 2003.  Start of Trip.
My car diary had finished some time in mid December 2002. For some inexplicable reason I had not purchase a correct size and shape car diary. daily odometer readings were being recorded on a piece of paper. One piece after other. This continued during and after the trip, when a new car diary was got.
When data was being transferred to new diary, whole heap of data was missing. Lot of it was gustimated.
When this trip data was transferred whole heap of information was missing. Start, end, timings , meter readings etc are missing. Breakfast , lunch dinner details missing. Distances missing.
Feel quite bad about it now.
STARTED THE TRIP ON 27 JANUARY 2003.
Reached Mangal's place at Bhopla in afternoon.
Bhopal 27 Jan 03.Spent that day with Mangal. Nothing special to record. Next day Left for Indore.
Indore.

05 February prepared to proceed with the trip to places we wanted to see.
Further Trip covered : Mhow - Mamaleshwar,-Onkareshwar,Mandleshwar, Maheshwar, Chopda, winding up at Nagour on 08 Feb 03.
Mhow. Ravi had come as a DS to Infantry School Mhow. Spent a day with him. Left for onward journey on 07 Feb 03.
We saw Mamaleshwar,Onkareshwar,Mandleshwareshwar,  Maheshwar. A jyotriling, a tourist attraction and place where I had spent few years in early 50s.
Mamaleshwar.
Nnothing glamorous or flamboyant about temple complex at Mamleshwar. No extravagant sculptures . Just built in Stone in clean lines of simple elegemce.Mamaleshwar is also called Half Jyotirlamgs because it is believed that unless devotee takes darhsan of mamaleshware , before visiting Onkareshwar jyotirlinga, devotee will not get foll punya of jyotirlinga darshan.
We did that. It made us cross Narmada by boat at Gau Ghat to go across to see Onkareshwar.
Do visit http://omkareshwar.org/mamleshwar for some interesting facts and lots of info on Mamaleshwar
Omkareshwar
One of the Jyotirlinga of the 12 famous Jyotirlingas of Hindu Religion. You reach labyrinthine lanes after climbing ghat stairs. Do not remember much about the linga and garbh grah.
From wiki.:Omkareshwar is a Hindu temple dedicated to God Shiva. It is one of the 12 revered Jyotirlingashrines of Shiva. It is on an island called Mandhata or Shivapuri in the Narmada river; the shape of the island is said to be like the Hindu  symbol.
For details go to  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omkareshwar.
Mandleshwareshwar.
On the way to mandleshwar passing through Barawaha kindeled old mamories. When going to Mandleshwar, as father was transferred to Govt High School as Principal, we had de trained at Barawaha on o1 Jan 1950. Saw house where we had stayed for couple of years. Went to school saw Principle's office  Also Ram Mandir which is beautifully made.
Maheshwar.
Maheshwar is famous due to Ahyla Bai Holkar, beautifully constructed ghats on Narmada, Akhikeshwar Temple. And the Maheshwari sarees. A craft which has been revived again by descendants of Holkar dynasty. Really enjoyed the calm serene and beautiful ambiance.
Chopda.
For some inexplicable reason we got on th AB Road. By Shirpur we realised that we were going further and further away from Nagpur and had to turn right. Saw a turn leading to Chopda City. Turned on it . By then it was way past our usual stop time and getting dark. In little while it was fully dark . To reach city drove quite fast . In headlights a sudden dip was not seen and were airborne for some time, came down with bang. Sanity returned. Proceeded further at reasonable speed. Found a hotel. Paid through the nose. Spent a night .
Next Morning left for Nagpur and home.
