Hotel White Sands, Puri.

Beautiful location right on Puri's golden beach.

Puri beach is one of the longest uninterrupted beaches. The point is that along its entire length, the quality of the sand and the beach is maintained. Even though there are a large number of hotels and commercial establishments along the beach, those in the northern part of the beach are crowded, and one can not enjoy the beach as one can while staying at White Sands Hotel. That is because it is one of the last properties on the southern end of the beach with almost no crowds.

Comparatively, it is a new establishment, if my memory serves me right, opened only three to four years back. The newness is reflected in almost every fixture. The ambience is pleasant.

Rooms are good, and so is the bathroom. The view from the room is very good, overlooking a long stretch of the New Marine Drive Road and the sea of the Bay of Bengal.

The dining hall has a standard layout. The breakfast spread is quite nice, with lots of choices, including ready-made varieties and made-to-order menu items like omelettes or dosas. Lunch and dinner, our corporate menu, were satisfactory. The food was tasty and good. The staff was excellent, which made meal times a pleasant experience.

A very pleasant and enjoyable stay.
