After leaving Mumbai Port on the 3rd evening, We sailed all night.
We had heard about the fabulous sunrises seen from the deck of the ships sailing on the high seas. Both of us are early risers so getting up before sunrise has never been a problem. The problem was getting a cup of tea, first thing after getting up. The earliest tea/ coffee on the cruise was available only on Deck 10 and that too only after 6:00 AM.
We whiled away the time puttering around the cabin and sitting in the balcony surrounded by serene silence, calm winds and very pleasant weather, not too hot, not too cold, just a bit nippy, and looking at the effervescent wake left by the ship, knocking away about 10 to 11 nautical miles per hour from our journey.
Eventually 6: AM arrived and we went to Deck 10 filled up our cupps and proceeded to the Sun Deck. There were quite a few people with similar ideas at deck 11. During my morning walk at Nagpur, I used to watch the sunrise at around 6:40 AM. Here the time 6:40 arrived But there was no sign of the Sun 😊. Then I realised that there was a longitude difference of about 7 degrees between Nagpur and Ahatti so the sunrise would be around 20 - 30 minutes later than it is in Nagpur. I think the Sun also knew it . Rising sun photos were clicked at 07:12 AM.
After spending some time on the deck returned to our cabin.
We were sailing through the day. Other than water, water everywhere there was nothing else to see.
During the day had Breakfast, lunch, high tea and dinner. Explored various decks and the casino. Our friend Tats tried his luck without success. I used to drink, and smoke but had never gambled and was not about to start now, not even for fun 😄
